1966 Ferrari 500 Superfast Coupe

1966 Ferrari 500 Superfast Coupe ID# 8897 The Ferrari 500 Superfast (SF) coupe is a very significant automobile: The 400 horsepower 4962 cc V-12 engine was the most powerful engine available in a passenger car in 1964; and, with a top speed of 170 miles per hour, it was also the fastest! The 500 Superfast was introduced at the Geneva show in March 1964 and continued the Luxury image Ferrari had established with 410 and 400 Superamericas (SA) constructed from 1956 - 1964; the 500 Superfast represented a Grande finale to Ferrari's America series. The 500 SF carried the long-wheelbase coachwork similar in style to the America models which were mostly built by Pininfarina. Only thirty-seven 500 Superfasts were constructed between 1964 and 1966. Twelve of these cars were the later 5-speed series 2 cars, and this car carries Chassis Number 8897....the last Superfast built !!

New windshield and back glass, all new trim and glass rubber, chrome redone, new front marker lights and all new lenses. All replaceable brakes, shock and suspension components are new. All suspension arms and components are cadmium plated or powder coated to a much higher standard than when new. Fully detailed and painted frame. During the restoration it was also fitted with the Comp. Daytona grind P–6 cams and Euro headers, giving about 400 hp. Also fitted with the Comp.
